Disclosed transaction values had a wide range, from a minimum of $3.5 million to a maximum of $4.2 billion. Valuation multiples, as measured by enterprise value to sales, came in at a median of 2.7x, with a range from 1.2x to 4.2x. Public peer comparisons indicated an EV/S of 1.35x and an EV/EBITDA of 13.6x. Interestingly, 61% of sellers used a SaaS business model and at least 22% were developing deep technologies, such as AI.
